Recently, I’ve been considering buying a laptop stand for my desk. My main issues have been finding one that I liked and finding one that wasn’t insanely overpriced. It looks like now, I may have found the answer and though it was only fitting to share it with everyone else. The stand pictured above was created by Randy over at Instructables. If you head over to Instructables here, you can see step by step how to make this nice looking laptop stand for around $10. The only tricky part is that he uses a laser cutter to cut the holes which give this stand it’s unique look while helping to dissipate the heat from the laptop. If you don’t have access to a laser cutter, you may be able to send your piece of acrylic off or cut them out using a hole saw of Forstner bit.

Today I had a need for something to hold my iPhone to play a video. I didn’t really feel like going anywhere and figured maybe I could rig something up. Putting that aside for a second, I hopped on Google Reader and there just happened to be a video in one of my feeds about how to make an iPhone stand out of a paperclip. Check out the video below to make your own.
